The purpose of BibleDiscovery.ca is to help interested parties “discover” important, even vital truths that are in the Bible.
Helping to more fully execute “The Great Commission”
In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus Christ gave to us what has been called “The Great Commission”:
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit:
teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…”
Note some of the operative – and important – words in this Commission: “teach”, “teaching”, “observe” and “all”. Note further that twice in the King James Version (from which the above is taken), we are commanded to “teach”. Sadly, in many modern versions of the Bible, the first “teach” is omitted (but the accuracy of modern Bible versions – or even the King James Version – is an issue for another time).
Today, most Christians are unaware of Christ’s Commission to us – and of those who are familiar with it, most think of The Great Commission as simply being a call to “Go into all the world and make baptized disciples”. Sadly, most Christians today miss the vital eleven words where Christ adds, “…teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…”
One purpose of BibleDiscovery.ca is “to more fully execute The Great Commission and to strive to teach Christians ‘all’ of what Christ commanded us to observe.”
And what does the “all” in Matthew 28:20 refer to? Very simply “all” the commands throughout both the Old and New Testaments that apply to Christians today. It could be said that some of the most vital of “all” these commands fall into any of three types:
- Biblical commands re Allegiance, Obedience, the Sabbaths, etc.
- Biblical commands to understand end-time prophecies (future) – as with the true manner of Christ’s Second Coming, the Mark of the Beast, etc.
- Biblical commands to beware of current deceptions (now) that are already spreading throughout churches today.
BibleDiscovery.ca does not purpose to be a comprehensive guide to all questions one might have of the Bible. However, BibleDiscovery.ca does put forth certain doctrinal perspectives – some of which are shared via this website. The desire of this ministry is to incite in readers a passion to discover truth in God’s Word. We encourage every reader to study for themselves what truth is.
